Abstract

The main objective of this article is to understand the trajectory of the extreme right in Brazil, which first erupted in the presidential victory of Jair Messias Bolsonaro, in the 2018 elections, and which was consolidated due to the environment of intense political polarization that weakened democracy, fading the plurality and critical thinking. To achieve this purpose, this analysis has as theoretical relief reflections of political sociology from the thinkers Karl Marx, Augusto Comte, Max Weber, Gabriel Tarde and Georg Simmel. In this sense, the method employed has as its unfolding the understanding of some aspects of the Brazilian ultra-conservative rise, represented by Bolsonarism, which will be elucidated with a certain sociological topic of each author mentioned above. With this, readers are expected to understand some vectors that boosted this march towards the extreme right in Brazil and how it found meaning in the contemporary situation.
