Abstract

The theoretical study supported only by lectures and textbooks limits the student's learning in the appreciation of two-dimensional figures and experiences of others, which does not provoke enough interest in the student to make an effort to acquire meaningful and constant knowledge. In this way, this research is about the development of a manual of practical lessons for the content of Science and Biology in a single collection, for High School and Elementary II. To construct the script, seven subjects were selected, namely: Botany, Ecology, Human Physiology, Genetics, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Zoology. The survey of the experiments took into consideration some criteria, so that the exclusion criteria were: (i) experiments that require sophisticated and expensive equipment; (ii) experiments that make use of animals or dangerous substances, such as volatile acids; and the inclusion criteria were: (i) the level of content approach, by giving priority to those that approach as much as possible; (ii) consistency with the DCNs; (iii) low cost or simplicity of execution. The research literature shows that most of the non-performance is due to teachers' lack of time to research and select experiments that fit the school context they work in. The pedagogical potential of hands-on classes is evident in the acquisition of scientific understanding by the student. Thus, it can be concluded that the creation of a single collection with practices is a facilitating tool for the teacher to find experiments of the contents of Sciences and Biology and innovate the classes, intermediating the teaching-learning process with the significant learning of the student.
