EDUCATION IN MUSEUMS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF RESCUING THE MEMORY OF AFRO-BRAZILIAN CULTURE

The place of representation of Afro-descendant culture in museums also relates the concepts of heritage and memory. Thus, the following question arises: Does the museum contribute to the appreciation and recovery of the memory of Afro-Brazilian culture? In view of this context, the general objective of this work is to reflect on education in museums from the perspective of recovering the memory of Afro-Brazilian culture. Afro-Brazilian culture and specific objectives: identify the historical aspects of the museum; highlight the importance of the museum in its educational context; to analyze the contribution of the Museum to the knowledge of Afro-Brazilian culture. In this sense, the study was developed through bibliographic research, based on bibliographic sources of renowned authors, scientific articles for a better deepening of research on the museum as an object of study. Through the study it was found that the more valued the Afro-Brazilian culture, the more there will be the rescue of the memory about its manifestations.
