Abstract

The present work aims to present analyzes about Obstetric Violence and its consequences, emphasizing the importance of training nursing professionals in the area of ​​obstetrics in order to collaborate to reduce the health problems inherent to that problem. It consists of a literature review, supported by studies of specific articles in the field of obstetrics, selected through searches in the database of specialized internet sites such as: SCIELO and Google Scholar. It has a qualitative approach, as it aims to extract answers and conclusions regarding the central theme from the analyzes of the discussions presented in scientific works. The aforementioned study was enough to make it possible to know and understand the consequences of obstetric violence, while pointing out ways to humanize a moment of great importance for mother, child and family as a whole. In addition, it emphasizes the importance of training in obstetrics by nursing professionals in terms of their contribution to reducing the acts and consequences related to obstetric violence. Therefore, it calls attention to the implementation of public policies of the State, referring not only to the training of health professionals, but, above all, to guaranteeing women's health and their rights.
