Abstract

To analyze the impact of resistance exercise in the therapy of diseases that decrease the quality of life and physical condition in children and adolescents.  Bibliographic research with a qualitative approach and descriptive character was carried out through a review, in which the National Library of Medicine (PubMed) and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases were used, with the descriptors "resistance training", " adolescent” and “child”. Inclusion criteria were a clinical trial, clinical study and controlled clinical trial, original articles, clinical trials, randomized or non-randomized, case-control studies, case reports, and cohort studies, published between 2019 and 2022. Addressed the impacts of physical activity in patients with cerebral palsy, obesity, idiopathic scoliosis, hepatic steatosis, and hematological malignancies. In this way, it was verified that resistance exercise is an important way to positively impact the therapy of such diseases, impacting the quality of life, physical and psychological condition of patients.
