NURSING ASSISTANCE FOR ADULT ONCOLOGICAL PATIENTS IN PALLIATIVE CARE

Introduction: Palliative care is essential to provide quality of life for those suffering from chronic, degenerative and progressive disease. They are provided by a multidisciplinary team, however, the nurse has been playing a prominent role in this context. Objective: Demonstrate how nurses act in the provision of care and what is their relevance in this process. Materials and Methods: Bibliographic review using articles published in the Virtual Health Library, having as inclusion criteria articles that were within the theme and proposed objective and that have been published in the last 5 years. Results: Nursing interventions improve symptoms associated with de disease. Conclusion: The nurse played a prominent role with regard to the essential agente in the provision of palliative care.
