The advent of the technological revolution and the consequent empowerment of the individual led to the resignification of the traditional functions of the school with the inclusion of a digital logic of consumption. The challenge of human development and learning now coexists with a new range of meanings that demand and demand to meet the expectations of the self-centered, empowered and increasingly protagonist digital native. This time, a dyad of sideways stresses and generates a crisis in methodological approaches and educational projects that question the role of education, making it imperative to reflect on where the bases for this resignification of function are. The present work sheds light on education through the bibliographic narrative of themes in Developmental Psychology, Political Science and Philosophy of Education. The theoretical-conceptual basis used dialogues with three pillars of understanding (political, social and methodological) that question the student's position as an active subject of the educational process or its product. Finally, once the crisis scenario in education and its resignification through the logic of consumption are contextualized, possible lessons learned from the contemporary will be demonstrated for the definition of a new methodological perspective under the aegis of these discussions and qualitative and explanatory interpretations of the theme , bringing to work its realistic face. Finally, when dealing with the existential context of the contemporary student, the educational sieve becomes the consumer and his expectations, hence the corner between the right and the consumption of education in a two-way street in terms of oppression.
