This article sought to collect the most varied definitions of teaching and didactics among the most renowned researchers in the educational field, as well as commenting on each definition, which can generate a healthy, healthy and profitable discussion for a very important topic that has often been left untouched. side and ignored, especially with regard to higher education in baccalaureate courses. We conclude that didactics, which does not present itself as secondary or inferior to teaching, but as a related, essential and necessary area for teaching.
