The general objective of this article is to reflect on the contribution of the use of information and communication technologies, in the face-to-face classroom and in virtual environments, or at a distance to teaching practice and learning. The specific objectives unfold in analyzing and understanding how the pedagogical activities of teachers work as facilitating elements in the teaching and learning process and observing the importance of the use of technologies in the daily work of these professionals. The appropriate methodology of this work was guided by qualitative research, which suggests an investigation of an empirical nature, observed through bibliographic reviews related to technologies in education with relevance to the current reality in the educational scenario. The relevant question for the development of this work was the following: what is the contribution of the use of technology to teaching practice and learning in face-to-face and distance learning? To try to answer this question, we appropriated some theoretical concepts from authors who approach the subject under study, with emphasis on face-to-face or distance learning. The research sought to focus on the use of technologies in the face-to-face or distance classroom and its aspects for teaching and learning. Regarding the results of this work, the relevance of the use of technologies was observed, as a differential in teaching, as they optimize the time of activities in the classroom or at a distance, thus favoring the exchange of experiences in real time or not, expanding the connection between the teacher and the student in relation to knowledge, and the development of skills and competences in the use of digital technological.
