Over time, many plant species have become not only food, but also medicinal, due to the fact that there are many nutrients necessary for life and because of their relevance in phytotherapy, thus making them of great importance and also, being able to contribute significantly to the local economy and regional. Based on these assumptions, the present research aimed to carry out an ethnobotanical survey of food and medicinal plants sold in the public market of the city of Corrente-PI. The research was divided into two stages, the first being an on-site visit, the second stage carrying out the application of questions and answers, built through Google Forms. During the on-site visit, four (04) vendors were interviewed, of which 75% were female and 25% male, aged between 35 and 60 years. The profile of the interviewees shows that the predominant and active participation in public markets is women. In the second stage of the research, 30 forms were carried out through the Forms research, the criterion adopted for this was to attend the fair. Of the 30 participants, about 43.33% were students, 13.33% civil servants, 10% receptionists, 6.66% self-employed, home caregivers, school secretary, environmental technician, 3.33% farmer, leader of assembly.
