The present work aims to share experiences of occupational therapy, at the level of assistance and health management, in primary care and to discuss public actions and policies, in times of covid-19, focusing on the black population and rural population. Methods: This is an experience report, of a descriptive and reflective nature, of activities experienced in the period from 2020 to 2021, during training in the Multiprofessional Residency program in Family and Community Health. Results: Occupational therapy has concepts and techniques that make it possible to work with populations in situations of vulnerability, based on the consolidation of the field of social occupational therapy. Conclusion: Attention to the social determinants of health, complementary to an intersectional view of the health conditions of populations, especially populations in situations of vulnerability, expands the possibilities of care and aims at equity in health.
