Science Education in the last two decades has undergone intense changes in the search for adequacy to meet current social demands, although in this same scenario, it is still possible to identify traditional practices in school spaces. to draw a panorama of Science Education in the last years, as it has interfered in the current society, in the political, economic and cultural aspects, the analysis had as a guiding theoretical source the work elaborated by Myrian Krasilchik in 2000 - Reform and reality the case of teaching of sciences. This is a quantitative and qualitative study with an exploratory approach, the data collection instrument was given through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire, applied to 10 high school teachers from state public schools in the municipality of Santa Quiteria - CE. The research was analyzed using the Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) technique in addition to the percentage characterization of the quantitative data. It was possible through the study to observe a new historical panorama of the current Teaching, in this context it was verified that the difficulties about Science Teaching discourage teachers and students, although Teaching is supported by Laws, Guidelines and Parameters, teachers have difficulties teaching Science and schools still lack infrastructure so that students have a more meaningful learning
