Abstract

The use of anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) is quite recurrent in the bodybuilding environment, due to its ability to facilitate the process of gaining muscle mass and increasing strength in individuals who use these substances. The Trenbolone Acetate hormone is considered to be one of the most powerful steroids since its inception and therefore is widely used by bodybuilding athletes. It can produce aesthetically satisfying results, but it is also capable of causing a series of negative effects on those who use it. The present study seeks to highlight the main risks associated with substance use. This is an integrative review. Based on the works selected from the inclusion and exclusion criteria previously defined, it is possible to conclude that Trenbolone Acetate allows a satisfactory muscle and strength increase, increases protein synthesis, which promotes rapid muscle recovery after exercise, as well as the hydrogen synthesis, which promotes greater vascularity, increases the anabolic hormone IGF-1, which increases body mass while shedding excess body fat. However, the negative effects can present themselves in the same intensity in those who use it, leaving it up to the user to assess the “cost-benefit” of its use.
