The eating behavior is characterized as a set of actions associated with food, which occurs from choice to consumption and all the factors involved in this process. Social networks represent a determining factor in people's eating behavior. The present study is a literature review based on a qualitative and descriptive approach, where 24 articles/books from up to 10 years prior to the review were selected. The objective is to highlight the influence of social networks on the eating behavior of adult women. The cult of the perfect body propagated on social networks, can end up in two ways: body dissatisfaction and dietary restriction, which are risk factors for the development of eating disorders. It is concluded that social networks increase the dissatisfaction of women with their own body, having a great impact on eating behavior and the perception of body image, so it is up to the nutrition professional to use social networks to promote healthy eating, disseminate truthful information and act to deconstruct the standard of beauty.
