Abstract

The present article excelled in analyzing the advances and setbacks of the intermittent work modality in Brazil, considering the positive aspects of flexibility and the possibility of supplementing income, as opposed to the precariousness of employment relations, insofar as the labor guarantees included in the employment contract intermittent work do not materialize in the same way as a regular employment contract. In this sense, the research aims to present the characteristics of the intermittent employment contract, compare them with similar modalities provided for in foreign legislation, and indicate the advantages and disadvantages associated with the service contract provided on an intermittent basis. The results obtained from the bibliographic review of legislation, jurisprudence and scientific literature point to the need to improve legislation aimed at regulating intermittent work, since there is a tendency to prefer hiring this modality to the detriment of employment relationships with regular journey and remuneration, a hypothesis that represents a threat to the worker's stability, as well as to the integrity of their guarantees.
