THE LEGAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS OF FEMICIDE

The growing murder of women brings to light the importance of discussing femicide, which in a broad definition is the act and killing of women based on gender. Therefore, this article has the general objective of analyzing the relevant aspects of femicide in relation to legal, psychological and social implications. Regarding the specific objectives, it aims to: identify the types of gender violence against women; Reveal the main causes of femicide; Present the relevant aspects of femicide contained in the amendment to art. 121 by Law No. 13,104/15; analyze and demonstrate the legal, psychological and social implications of femicide. Regarding the nature of the research, basic research was used, it seeks to generate new knowledge, contributing to the advancement of science. As for the research objectives, it is descriptive research, because the phenomenon that occurred or the object of study is analyzed according to its relationship between the variables. The technical procedures of the research, on the other hand, are configured as bibliographic research that constitutes a collection of data from already published materials such as: books, newspapers, magazines and articles. The legal implications are evident because two conditions were established: the first domestic and family violence; the second, contempt or discrimination against the condition of women. In the psychological implications, a striking point is the development by victims of anxiety disorders, depression and panic syndrome, which due to great psychological pressure can evolve into cases of suicide.
