DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CELA, PROVINCE OF CUANZA-SUL – ANGOLA: A PHENOMENON THAT HAS CONCERNED THE GOVERNMENT AND SOCIETY

Abstract

The family constitutes the fundamental nucleus of a society, constituted by a blood group where moral and cultural values ​​are transmitted and formal and informal education are fundamental pillars for it to be guided. Always starting from the principle that whoever educates a woman is educating a society. The breakdown of the family has caused several disorders in homes and several researchers point to the emergence of domestic violence as the main cause and then delinquency in children. Thus, throughout the present study, several authors defended as the main cause of the phenomenon domestic violence, the excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, the loss of religious values, marital infidelity, the low level of schooling among the partners, poverty, accusations of witchcraft, unemployment etc. The present exploratory field work with a quantitative-qualitative approach, as a product of a bibliographic and empirical investigation, aims to reflect on the process of confronting violence against women in the Municipality of Cela, Province of Cuanza Sul. development of the same, a focus group of 14 women, 6 men was interviewed with a sample of 20 participants, among them, traditional and religious authorities, members of civil society and the Municipal Directorate for the Family and Promotion of Women, members linked to the of Criminal Investigation of the Municipality of Cela, Data collection took place from October to November 2021.
