DEPRESSION IN ADOLESCENCE: A BIBLIOGRAPHIC REVIEW

Abstract

Adolescent depression is considered a public health problem, as cases of suicide have been increasing gradually in recent times. There is, therefore, no specific cause. Because it is associated with several factors that interrelate to each other, thus directly reflecting on the pathological development of the disease. Given all this, during the analysis of the historical process of how depressives were treated in the past; it will be possible to propose more humanizing assistance to adolescents, as well as help them to build their own identity; through the rescue of their self-esteem and feeling of being loved in the social and family cycle in which they are inserted.
