This study aimed to analyze the national scientific content related to the prevention of bloodstream infections associated with central venous catheters (CVC) in the Intensive Care Unit. An integrative review was carried out using the Virtual Health Library (VHL) database, specifically, Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval Online System (Medline) and Database data in Nursing (BDENF). Of the 9 articles selected, 4 addressed the adherence of professionals to methods of prevention of bloodstream infections associated with CVC; 3 interventions to prevent CVC-associated bloodstream infections and 2 knowledge of methods to prevent CVC-associated bloodstream infections.
