PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DA DOENÇA DE CHAGAS NA BAHIA

This study aimed to discuss the epidemiological profile of Chagas disease in Bahia. For this, we sought to analyze the data on the prevalence of CD, in the period 2018 to 2020, as well as to verify the social stratum where the disease occurs, in addition to explaining the mortality rate from the disease in Brazil, especially in the state of Bahia. This was a descriptive, cross-sectional study carried out with secondary data. It was shown that the mortality rate due to CD was considered high in the cities of Cruz das Almas, Jacobina, Santo Antonio de Jesus, Itaberaba, Barreiras and Guanambi. The northern region of Bahia was the one that registered the greatest variation in relation to the cases of the disease. The most common form of disease transmission was oral. As for the proportion of deaths from the disease based on race and color revealed that the brown color.
