This study analyzed the economic impact of the mandatory migration from the A4 tariff sub-category (13.8 kV, Green Mode) to the A3 category (69 kV, Blue Mode) at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) A. C. Simões campus. The shift complies with the regulations of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) for units with a demand exceeding 2,500 kW. The objective was to compare electricity demand and consumption costs between the two connections. The methodology involved analyzing bills issued between July 2024 and June 2025, evaluating two contracting scenarios tailored to the consumer unit's profile. The results demonstrated that the 69 kV connection yields a reduction of over 20% in total costs, resulting in annual savings of approximately two million reais.
