Abstract

This article discusses the relevance of acquiring digital skills during the teacher training process, reflecting on the current technological scenario and the urgent need for digitally trained educators. It is understood that degree courses have the role of promoting the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the educational context. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze how curricular obsolescence affects the development of these skills. For this purpose, the structure of a Pedagogical Political Project (PPP) in force since the 2010s of the Literature - Portuguese Language course at a public university in the North region of Brazil was used as a documentary case study. The methodology applied was exploratory and descriptive, utilizing bibliographical and documentary research. The development is based on the themes of technologies in education, teacher training, and digital skills. The results show that the analyzed curriculum matrix does not include specific subjects related to ICTs. It is concluded that there is a pressing need to update undergraduate curricula, ensuring that future teachers possess the technological knowledge essential to work in contemporary society.
