The objective of this study was to evaluate the recommendations and management of childhood diarrheal diseases in primary care. Method: This is an integrative review, searching for articles from the period 2010 to 2020, in the SCIELO databases; LILACS and PUBMED, with 10 studies selected. Results: It was revealed that the management of diarrheal diseases in children under five years of age was developed in two aspects, the first related to the care of mothers and/or caregivers (administration of rehydration serum, continuous feeding, immunization of children against rotavirus, medicines made from plants). The second were those developed by primary care professionals, such as: health education actions, through guidance passed on to mothers and/or caregivers of these children. Conclusion: It is clear that the management of diarrheal diseases in children under five years of age requires joint actions between family health teams and the mothers or caregivers of these children.
