Abstract

This article analyzes the growing demand among Brazilians for master's and doctoral programs abroad—particularly in Paraguay—highlighting the factors driving this trend, such as flexible academic calendars and the availability of student openings. It also underscores the professional benefits of obtaining these degrees, including expanded employment opportunities and prospects for salary and career advancement, alongside contributions to students' scientific development and critical thinking skills. However, the study also addresses debates regarding the challenges of degree recognition and reflects on the comparability of the quality of education received abroad. Regarding revalidation challenges, the text describes the process—facilitated by the Carolina Bori Platform—emphasizing the rigorous nature of the procedure and the autonomy of Brazilian universities in assessing program equivalence in accordance with current legislation. Finally, the article discusses prospects for potential educational integration between Brazil and Paraguay, advocating for the alignment of regulatory criteria and the strengthening of institutional partnerships, all while maintaining quality standards and respecting each country's educational sovereignty.
