EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES FOR STUDENT RETENTION AND SUCCESS: A STUDY IN YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION INTEGRATED WITH PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION

Abstract

This article is part of a Master's dissertation linked to the Graduate Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT) and is associated with the MAGMA Research Group. It presents a State of Knowledge regarding scientific productions related to educational practices in Youth and Adult Education (YAE), Youth and Adult Education integrated with Professional and Technological Education (YAE/PTE), and student retention and success. The study was conducted using the CAPES Periodicals Portal, employing descriptors related to the investigated theme. The corpus consisted of 23 scientific articles published between 2016 and 2026. Bardin's Content Analysis was used for data analysis. The findings revealed a predominance of studies focusing on YAE students, public policies, and the implementation of YAE/PTE. In contrast, a scarcity of research addressing educational practices related to student retention and success was identified, revealing an important research gap in the field.
