TRANSMISSÃO VERTICAL DO HIV: O PAPEL DO ENFERMEIRO NO CUIDADO A GESTANTE SOROPOSITIVO

Literature review study that aimed to carry out an analysis of the role of nursing to pregnant women with HIV in the face of prenatal counseling. Methodology: this is an integrative review of a qualitative approach, with research carried out in the online database Regional Portal of the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and its affiliated websites. Publications published between 2017 and 2021 were included, with full text, articles, monographs and theses in Portuguese and English, available free of charge, that met up to three descriptors used. Papers dated less than 2017 were excluded, as well as those that had only abstracts and citations in languages other than those mentioned above. The study consisted of the analysis of 10 publications. Results: The role of the nurse is linked to the care of HIV-positive pregnant women in relation to vertical transmission (VT), that is, prenatal care for HIV-positive pregnant women. Conclusion: Nurses contribute a lot to health education, requesting and evaluating the possible signs and symptoms of HIV early in pregnant women, with their active and thorough search in prenatal consultations.
