This article stems from research aimed at understanding how Ukrainian cuisine contributes to the well-being and health of Ukrainian descendants and new migrants in Paraná. The methodological approach was qualitative and anthropological. The results, presented narratively, describe the symbolic and affective elements of traditional Ukrainian cuisine that foster well-being and health. By mapping traditional Ukrainian dietary practices, it was possible to understand how these foods relate to physical, emotional, and social well-being. The study also highlights the positive value placed on social and cultural interactions during the preparation and consumption of typical Ukrainian dishes, as well as how memories associated with communal food practices alleviate the pain of the diaspora and the losses entailed by migration.
