The increasing illegal importation of weight-loss injection pens into Brazil has become a significant challenge for public health and border security due to the growing circulation of medicines without sanitary control and the involvement of criminal organizations in this illicit market. This article analyzes this phenomenon from sanitary and epidemiological perspectives, with a particular focus on the role of the Border Patrol Battalion (BPFron) of the Paraná Military Police in combating this type of crime. The study adopts a qualitative, descriptive approach based on a bibliographic and documentary review, drawing upon scientific literature, legislation, official documents, news reports, and seizure records related to the subject. The analysis seeks to understand the relevance of BPFron's operations in intercepting medicines illegally brought into the country, as well as to discuss the impact of these seizures on protecting public health, combating organized crime, and strengthening border inspection efforts. It is concluded that integrated action between public security agencies and health surveillance authorities is an essential strategy for preventing the circulation of these illegal products and reducing the risks associated with their consumption by the population.
