THE IMPORTANCE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL OBSERVATION IN THE SCHOOL CONTEXT: AN ANALYSIS OF INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS, PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICES, AND INSTITUTIONAL CLIMATE IN A MUNICIPAL SCHOOL

Abstract

Schooling constitutes a primary context for human development, responsible not only for imparting academic knowledge but also for shaping students' social, emotional, and behavioral development. In this regard, School Psychology contributes to understanding the phenomena underlying relationships within the educational environment. This study aims to describe and analyze observations made during a mandatory psychology internship at a municipal school in Balsa Nova, Paraná. It is a descriptive, qualitative study based on direct observation of daily school life. Aspects such as classroom dynamics, interactions during recess, pedagogical activities conducted outside the traditional classroom setting, and the institution's organizational climate were observed. The results highlighted the influence of pedagogical practices and interpersonal relationships on student behavior, underscoring issues related to discipline, competitiveness, cooperation, emotional management, and conflict mediation. The study concludes that fostering welcoming and emotionally healthy school environments supports not only the learning process but also the holistic development of students.
