Occupational accidents are quite common and can be serious, generating acquired deficiencies in the worker, as well as amputations and the use of prostheses, which require intervention with the support of an interdisciplinary team with the support of a physiotherapist, as well as psychological support for this professional reintegrates physically, emotionally and professionally. When an accident occurs in the work environment, the company is responsible for providing all the support and bearing all the costs incurred in this process. Thus, this study aims to understand the contributions of physiotherapy professionals in the recovery of patients victims of work accidents who have to adapt to the use of prostheses. For this, a bibliographical, qualitative, exploratory, descriptive, deductive research was carried out, in order to understand this social phenomenon. It is concluded that the physiotherapist is indispensable, regardless of the causes of the amputation, for the individual's rehabilitation, from the beginning to the prescription of an early and appropriate treatment that can influence the final result of the rehabilitation.
