POPULATION HEALTH EDUCATION IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE THROUGH SHORT EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS: EXPERIENCES, CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES

Abstract

Health education is a core component of Primary Health Care (PHC), yet many educational initiatives remain fragmented, poorly systematized, or limited to specific institutional contexts. At the same time, the widespread diffusion of digital technologies has expanded the possibilities for health communication and public education. This article presents a position paper that examines the potential of short educational videos as a strategy for the continuing education of PHC users. Drawing on a critical review of the literature on health education, health literacy, and microlearning, the paper identifies existing experiences, research gaps, and challenges associated with integrating audiovisual resources into public health communication strategies. Based on this analysis, a methodological approach is proposed to guide the development of short audiovisual educational materials aimed at the population.
