Objectives: To describe the epidemiological profile of patients with pelvic or acetabular fractures treated at a referral public hospital in Alagoas, Brazil, identifying the most frequent sociodemographic characteristics. Methods: This prospective observational epidemiological study analyzed pelvic and acetabular fractures in patients admitted to a referral public hospital in Alagoas between 2024 and 2025. Fractures were classified according to the Judet and Letournel classification for acetabular fractures and the Tile et al. classification for pelvic fractures. Data were collected from medical records, and a standardized questionnaire was administered. The variables analyzed included sex, age, occupation, mechanism of injury, day of the week, time of injury, and fracture type. Results: 57 patients were hospitalized due to the conditions investigated. There was a predominance of male patients, individuals aged 18 to 30 years, and unemployed individuals. Motorcycle accidents were the most common mechanism of injury, occurring predominantly on Saturdays and during the afternoon. The most frequent acetabular fractures involved the posterior wall, whereas type B1 fractures were the most prevalent among pelvic fractures. Conclusion: These findings reinforce the need for preventive strategies targeting motorcyclists and young adults, increased traffic law enforcement during high-risk periods, and training of healthcare professionals to ensure prompt and effective management of these fractures.
