EXPRESSIONS OF IDENTITY: CHILDREN'S SELF-PERCEPTION AND NARRATIVES IN AN INSTITUTION IN SOUTHERN SANTA CATARINA

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate how children from an institution located in Southern Santa Catarina construct and express their identity through narratives and playful techniques. The methodology adopted was qualitative and descriptive, with data collection carried out in the second semester of 2025 through observations, semi-structured interviews, analysis of narrative productions and materials resulting from the proposed activities. Data analysis was conducted based on Bardin’s content analysis technique, widely used in qualitative research. The results demonstrate that the study may contribute to expanding knowledge about the ways in which children express and understand their identity, providing support for educational and psychological practices that value children’s uniqueness and foster integral development.
