Abstract

Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder has been studied for a long time to be better understood, in this sense, the theme of this project is about the teaching and learning process of children with autism, where the problem: is based on knowing how the process occurs of teaching and learning for autistic students, in the initial years, in regular schools? Given this, the justification is to understand teachers' perception of the teaching and learning process of autistic students. Based on the topic covered, the general objective: is to analyze how the teaching and learning process of students with ASD happens in regular schools, with specific objectives: characterizing autism spectrum disorder, describing the work carried out by the teacher for the process of teaching and learning for autistic students, and verify the teacher's main methodological proposals in relation to autism. The main theoretical bases: which guided this work were Rodrigues (2023), Brasil (1994), Cunha (2024), among others. In view of this research, it is concluded: that there are many challenges surrounding the teaching and learning process of children with ASD, but it is necessary for us, as teachers, who must believe in the potential of autistic children, so we have to seek, through studies and research, get to know the disorder better, get to know your student with this syndrome, so that efficient and quality work can be done, remembering that the inclusion of students with ASD is important, as it positively helps in their social, effective and cognitive development.
