The motivation for conducting this study comes from the researcher's practical experience as a nursing technician and bachelor's degree student in nursing, when she helped her father in his post-hospital recovery period after having taken Covid 19, in which he observed that many elderly patients, as well as her father, left hospital discharge without the slightest personal conditions for their own daily care, so this theme instigated and disturbed her, giving rise to this research. Its objective was to analyze the importance of the nursing team in the care of dependent elderly people after hospital discharge. The methodology used was the integrative literature review, which allowed us to summarize previous research on the subject under study, guiding the analysis of documents relevant to the research object, such as: Guia Viver Mais e Melhor of the Ministry of Health, Programa Melhor em Casa from the Unified Health System (SUS), all available on the internet, as well as from the literature relevant to the area under study. The data were worked through the technique of discourse analysis with the categorization of the excerpts that responded to the research object, which were found in the analyzed works and documents. This research aimed to understand how the care of dependent elderly is given after hospital classes and how the nurse, or related areas, can help to improve the health conditions of the patients in question. The research revealed that the nursing professional is responsible for performing the function of providing direct or indirect care to the patient, promoting comfort measures, respecting the clinical picture presented.
