Introduction: Nursing care during labor and childbirth for incarcerated women occurs in a context marked by social vulnerabilities, structural limitations, and institutional challenges that may compromise the quality of care. Objective: To analyze the challenges of nursing care during labor and childbirth among women deprived of liberty, identifying strategies and practices that promote safe, humanized, and comprehensive care within the prison context. Methodology: This is a descriptive bibliographic review with a qualitative approach, conducted using LILACS, SciELO, and Google Scholar databases. Publications in Portuguese from 2022 to 2026 were included, resulting in a final sample of 12 studies. Results: The findings revealed challenges related to structural deficiencies in the prison system, difficulties in accessing specialized health services, conflicts between healthcare demands and security requirements, and barriers to ensuring humanized care and the protection of women's rights. A scarcity of studies specifically addressing labor and childbirth in prison settings was also identified. Evidence demonstrated that nursing practice includes clinical monitoring, welcoming care, emotional support, health education, and coordination of healthcare networks. Conclusion: Nursing care during labor and childbirth among incarcerated women faces structural, institutional, and healthcare-related challenges, requiring stronger public policies, professional training, implementation of specific protocols, and expansion of scientific production on the subject.
