Introduction: Pressure injuries (PI) represent a critical indicator of care quality, with significant impacts on patient safety, hospital costs, and quality of life. Objective: To analyze the impacts of pressure injuries and nurse interventions in prevention and treatment in hospitalized patients. Methodology: This is a descriptive bibliographic review with a qualitative approach, conducted in LILACS, BDENF, and Google Scholar databases. Nineteen articles published between 2022 and 2026 were included and analyzed using Bardin's content analysis technique. Analysis and discussion of results: Findings show that standardized protocols, risk scales such as Braden, position changes every two hours, and skin hydration reduce lesion incidence by up to 50%. Professional training and Nursing Care Systematization (NCS) emerged as determining factors. However, structural barriers such as resource scarcity and workload compromise effective implementation of preventive practices. Conclusion: Nursing assumes decisive leadership in the prevention and management of PI, requiring an integrated approach combining technical knowledge, adequate resources, and robust institutional policies to ensure safe, humanized, evidence-based care.
