Abstract

This study presents the development of a conversational agent for educational support — a chatbot — designed as a guided study resource and with the function of a tutor in teaching mathematical fractions. Its objective is to help students understand concepts, practice through exercises and apply knowledge in everyday situations, such as sharing a pizza, following recipes or calculating discounts on promotions. The relevance of this topic lies in the growing demand for technological tools that support the teaching-learning process, especially in subjects such as mathematics, where many students face significant difficulties. The use of chatbots in education has shown promise, as it offers continuous support to students and favors the personalization of learning. Previous research indicates that virtual assistants can significantly contribute to completing school tasks, increasing both student engagement and performance.
