This article deals with the contributions of games and games in the learning process in early childhood education, based on the assumption that these pedagogical resources significantly contribute to the learning and development of students. The same discusses this theme having as theoretical foundation the ideas of Kishimoto (2011), Maluf (2009), Teixeira (2010) among others. The pedagogical work with play in the classroom enables the teacher to make learning motivating, pleasurable and meaningful, in addition to providing students with adequate conditions for physical, motor, emotional, cognitive and social development.
