DIGITAL AGREEMENTS AND THE BRAZILIAN SCENARIO: CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES

Abstract

Digital trade agreements represent a new stage in economic globalization, marked by the integration of technology, negotiations, and digital governance. This article aims to analyze the concept, importance, and challenges of digital agreements, with an emphasis on Brazil's position in this scenario. Through bibliographic and documentary research, it is understood that these agreements seek to standardize rules for data flow, cybersecurity, and privacy protection, promoting greater integration and innovation in international trade. The study highlights the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA) as an example of international cooperation and points out that, although Brazil has made progress with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), there are still challenges in infrastructure, regulatory harmonization, and global integration. It concludes that the country's adherence to digital agreements is essential to strengthen its competitiveness and ensure a leading role in the digital economy.
