THE EFFICIENCY OF SOCIAL ORGANIZATION IN INSECTS COMPARED TO THE COMPLEXITY AND FRAGILITIES OF HUMAN SOCIETY

The social organization of eusocial insects, especially ants and bees, represents one of the most efficient collective systems observed in nature. This study aimed to analyze the efficiency of social organization in ant nests and beehives, comparing it with the complexity and weaknesses of human societies. The research adopted a qualitative, bibliographic, and comparative approach, based on studies related to eusociality, collective cognition, division of labor, cooperation, self-organization, individualism, and collectivism. The results demonstrate that social insects exhibit high levels of collective efficiency due to decentralized communication, functional division of tasks, intense cooperation, and high adaptive capacity. It was also observed that mechanisms such as stigmergy, collective feedback, and chemical recruitment allow for rapid and coordinated responses to environmental changes. In contrast, human societies, although possessing greater cultural, technological, and institutional complexity, frequently face weaknesses related to social inequality, bureaucracy, political conflicts, excessive individualism, and difficulties in collective coordination. Comparative analysis shows that social efficiency depends less on isolated individual intelligence and more on the quality of social interactions, the efficient flow of information, and collective adaptive capacity. It is concluded that social insects offer important biological models for understanding principles related to cooperation, sustainability, social adaptation, and collective organization, contributing to reflections on the contemporary challenges of human societies.
