Abstract

This study aimed to describe the Continuing Education in Health (CEH) actions carried out within the scope of the PET-Saúde/Equidade program in Basic Health Units in Marabá/PA. It is a descriptive, qualitative study, of the experience report type, developed through the project “PET-Saúde for All: Promoting Gender Equity and Valuing Women Workers in the SUS in Marabá”. The experience described occurred during the implementation of project activities, which encompassed axis 1 of the program: ‘Actions to value workers and future workers, gender, gender identity, sexuality, race, ethnicity, people with disabilities and intersectionalities in health work’. The activities, carried out through discussion groups, reflective dynamics, and workshops, fostered critical reflections on the topic, as well as on the institutional and organizational challenges for the implementation of Continuing Education in Health, symbolic and cultural resistance to the themes of gender, race, and disability, and the program's potential as a strategy for transforming practices within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Despite challenges related to the low participation of some professionals and the structural limitations of the units, a strengthening of the teaching-service-community integration was observed. The experience highlighted the potential of Continuing Education in Health in promoting equity and strengthening more humanized practices.
