Postpartum depression is a condition that affects maternal health and can compromise the baby’s development as well as family and social relationships. The study aimed to investigate the role of nursing in addressing postpartum depression. This is an integrative literature review. Data were collected from electronic databases such as Google Scholar, the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), and the Nursing Database (BDENF), using scientific publications from 2020 to 2025. The data obtained were analyzed, compared with relevant literature, and presented in tables. After reviewing the selected articles, it became clear that nursing professionals play a fundamental role in the care of postpartum women with postpartum depression. However, there remains a need for further in-depth study and training of these professionals on the subject, in order to improve early identification of the condition and provide faster and more effective care.
