This study aims to analyze how the nurse's role, combined with Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (PICS), contributes to promoting the autonomy of pregnant women during labor. The findings show that practices such as aromatherapy, music therapy, auriculotherapy, biodanza, massage, relaxation techniques, and others, significantly reduce pain, anxiety, and stress, in addition to promoting the well-being of both mother and child and decreasing the use of pharmacological interventions during labor. It was observed that the nurse's role, promoting active listening, effective communication, and establishing a therapeutic bond, is fundamental to strengthening the woman's protagonism, enabling her active participation in decisions related to childbirth. Furthermore, the inclusion of PICS contributes to the humanization of care by respecting the singularities and preferences of the pregnant woman. The implementation of PICS enhances female autonomy, reduces unnecessary interventions, and promotes a more positive, safe, and humanized childbirth experience.
