The concept of solidarity, among its various meanings, has been modeled according to the historical, social and technological moment. This article aims to analyze whether solidarity, as it appears in the literature, would be a relevant subjective quality in the formation of subjects, thus corroborating the understanding of this human value as a bioethical referent. The study uses the method of integrative literature review based on the search for articles in Portuguese and Spanish, published between 2000 and 2020 in three databases: on the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes); Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS). After examining 251 captured works, 19 studies were selected for analysis and organized into the following categories: Solidarity as content of academic training; Solidarity relations for professional qualification and Solidarity for social and collective responsibility. The study presents the important role of solidarity as a bioethical referent in the opportunity to guarantee responsible and committed action with human and environmental relations for the collective.
