This article aimed to map and analyze the scientific evidence regarding educational practices in the prevention and control of Diabetes Mellitus in the nursing context. This is a scoping review, conducted according to the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and presented according to the PRISMA-ScR checklist. The search was carried out in the MEDLINE/PubMed, LILACS, SciELO, Ministry of Health and Virtual Health Library databases, using DeCS and MeSH descriptors combined with Boolean operators. Studies published between 2020 and 2025, in Portuguese and English, were included, resulting in a final sample of 15 studies. The results showed that educational practices favor the strengthening of self-care, adherence to treatment and glycemic control, highlighting strategies such as individual and collective educational actions, use of digital technologies, care protocols and health promotion interventions. The role of nursing has proven essential, especially in Primary Health Care. It is concluded that educational practices are fundamental in addressing Diabetes Mellitus, contributing to improved clinical outcomes and reduced complications, making it necessary to expand strategies and strengthen public policies focused on comprehensive care.
