The topic of podcasting in education was addressed from a digital culture perspective, considering its potential for engagement, communication, and meaningful learning in the school context. The research problem was: how could podcasting be planned and used as a pedagogical strategy in digital culture, fostering engagement, communication, and meaningful learning, and which free tools enabled its production in the school setting? The general objective was to systematize contributions of podcasting to the educational process in digital culture and to present a practical production guide using free tools applicable to schools. The methodology adopted was bibliographic research, through which selected references on the nature, potential, and educational implications of podcasting were analyzed, as well as discussions on social participation and the use of multimedia resources in educational environments. In the development section, planning dimensions (purpose, format, duration, and authorship), possibilities for using podcasts to mediate study and support student authorship, and operational guidelines for school production through a simple workflow were organized, including planning, scripting, recording, editing, and dissemination. In the final considerations, it was concluded that podcasting could be pedagogically consistent when integrated into the curriculum with intentionality, teacher mediation, and follow-up activities, and that school production was enabled by replicable processes supported by free tools, while recognizing the need for empirical studies to expand evidence on implementation and effects in different contexts.
