Interdigital hyperplasia, also known as fibroma or gabarro, is a condition characterized by the proliferation of fibrous tissue between the digits of cattle, potentially leading to inflammation, lameness, and decreased productivity. This disorder is influenced by genetic, environmental, and management factors, and is more commonly observed in dairy herds kept in confined or unsanitary conditions. This study aims to address the anatomical and pathophysiological aspects of the disease, as well as discuss prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies, with emphasis on surgical correction. In addition to a theoretical review, a clinical case of a Holstein cow undergoing surgical excision of interdigital hyperplasia is presented. The procedure was successful, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate management to ensure animal welfare and minimize economic losses.
