Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the challenges faced in the partnership between family and school in the teaching and learning process. The research sought to understand how family participation contributes to the educational development of students, as well as to identify factors that hinder this relationship in the school context. It is a qualitative research study, conducted in a rural public school of the municipal network in the city of Ipojuca, in the state of Pernambuco. As a data collection instrument, interviews were conducted with two teachers, identified as P1 and P2. The results indicated that family involvement plays a fundamental role in monitoring students' school life, contributing to more meaningful learning. However, challenges were also identified, such as families' lack of time, communication difficulties between school and guardians, and socioeconomic conditions that interfere with family participation. It is concluded that strengthening the partnership between family and school is essential for students' educational development, and it is necessary for school management to develop strategies that promote greater closeness, dialogue, and interaction of families in the school environment. The study is based on Guizzo, Marcello, and Muller (2020, p. 7), who highlight management efforts aimed at the continuity and permanence of the school partnership.
