This article aimed to analyze, through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), how Computational Thinking can be applied as an approach to enhance mathematics teaching in Basic Education. To this end, it sought to map the main strategies used for its incorporation into the school context, as well as examine and organize the scientific evidence on its contributions to the development of mathematical skills. The qualitative research analyzed 25 works published between 2020 and April 2023, selected based on predefined criteria. The results indicate that Computational Thinking has been integrated mainly through problem-solving, interdisciplinarity, and the use of digital technologies, using the pillars of decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms to develop necessary skills for students. It concludes that this approach presents significant potential to strengthen mathematics teaching; however, effective implementation demands investments in teacher training, since many educators are unfamiliar with this approach.
